£400 raised in aid of the Royal British Legion

Mansfield Inner Wheel Club Meeting, held at Portland College on November 8th 2017 was a very special memorable occasion, attended by 126 Inner Wheel members, Rotarians, friends and guests.
Past District Chairman Yvonne Neville and her brother-in-law Rotarian Paul Bacon gave a fascinating illustrated talk on the life of Albert Ball, a distant cousin of Yvonne and her sister Christine.

Captain Albert Ball was brought up in Nottingham and became the most decorated and courageous fighter pilot in World War I. He was awarded three Distinguished Service Orders: the Military Cross and the Victoria Cross posthumously. His family relatives were recently invited to a Memorial Service in France and the Royal Albert Hall to mark the 100th Anniversary of his death.

Veronica, Jennifer & Sara organised the raffle and manned the stall that raised £400
