Inner Wheel National Conference 2026

The Inner Wheel National conference was held in Llandudno when around 800 ladies, including six from Mansfield IW enjoyed three days of fun and friendship, despite the very windy showery weather.

Our conference started with a service led by the Association President Pam Boyes followed by greetings from the Mayor of Llandudno and the President of International IW Kay Moorland. We were then treated to speakers from Anglesey Sea Zoo, Tourettes Action, Thatchers’ Cider and Ronald McDonald House Charities. Tuesday evenings entertainment was “A Night at the Musicals” by the very talented Welsh of The West End group, everyone joined in and were on their feet a great evening.

Wednesday morning was the AGM followed by the guest speaker Patrick Grant from the ‘The Great British Sewing Bee’; Patrick suggested that the members might like to make an outfit out of Inner Wheel scarves. After his presentation based around the quality or lack of quality of a roasting tin, he picked the winners. There were 19 entries, our member Nicola in her fabulous dress with matching accessories was picked out first and the four winners paraded on the stage. Nicola looked stunning a well deserved winner. The afternoon concluded with an amazing junior school choir definitely some future stars there!

The Presidents evening was very lively with all in fancy dress ranging through the 50’s to 90’s and music to match from The Zoots band.

An excellent few days with many laughs, fun and friendships, why not join us next year when we will be in Cheltenham it’s great fun

Dancing the Night Away and Supporting Local Charities at Mansfield Inner Wheel Club Ceilidh

Members and friends enjoyed a wonderful evening of music, laughter and dancing at our recent ceilidh, which proved to be a great success. Around 90 people attended, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere from the very start.

The evening was filled with energetic dancing, with everyone encouraged to join in regardless of experience. The caller ensured that even beginners quickly felt at ease, and the dance floor was rarely empty as guests embraced the spirit of the occasion.

A delicious ploughman’s supper was served, providing the perfect opportunity for guests to relax, socialise and recharge before returning to the dancing. The combination of good food, great company and traditional music made for a truly memorable event.

We are delighted to report that the evening raised an impressive £1,700, which will be donated to Rainbow Hospice and John Eastwood Hospice. These funds will support the invaluable work carried out by both organisations, and we are proud to contribute to such important causes.

Our sincere thanks go to everyone who attended, helped organise the event, and contributed so generously. It was a fantastic evening that perfectly reflected the friendship and community spirit of Inner Wheel.

Walking for a Safer World: Mansfield Inner Wheel Supports Orange the World Day

On Wednesday, we joined women around the globe for Orange the World Day, standing together to raise awareness and say no to violence against women. 🧡

Members of the Mansfield Inner Wheel gathered for a peaceful walk around Kings Mill Reservoir, dressed in orange and united in purpose. It was a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from community, compassion, and looking out for one another.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped shine a little more light on such an important cause. 🧡✨

Joining in the Celebrations for Mapperley’s First Charter

Last night we were delighted to attend the Inner Wheel Charter of Mapperley as they celebrated their very first year.

It was a wonderful evening spent catching up with friends from Mansfield Club as well as members from across District 22. The atmosphere was warm, lively, and full of fellowship, and we were treated to fantastic entertainment from a talented ladies’ vocal group who kept us smiling throughout the night.

Afternoon Tea with a Special Friend

Recently four members went along to enjoy tea and cake with inner wheel member Pauline Platt, who is now staying at Maun View Nursing Home.

Sara, one of her daughters made us most welcome and we had a lovely time chatting about shared interests and Inner Wheel news and of course plenty of tea and cake!

Moments like these are a wonderful reminder of what Inner Wheel is all about: friendship, kindness, and being there for one another through every stage of life. It was a truly heart-warming afternoon, and we left with full stomachs and even fuller hearts.

Pizza, Laughter, and Friendship: A Night to Savour

Freshly baked pizza, a few Aperol Spritz’s, wine, good company and warming conversation; the recipe for a perfect evening.

Our recent Inner Wheel social at the Rustic Crust in Farnsfield was one of those evenings where stories flowed, laughter echoed, and illustrated the side of inner wheel that people forget, it’s not all about raising money but making friends for life!

It was a really lovely, enjoyable evening! 😃😊
