Looking back at the Kinder Transport Project

Tim Mulroy gave a fascinating and very interesting talk about Sir Nicholas Winton’s Kinder Transport project to bring vulnerable Jewish children to Great Britain before the outbreak of the 2nd World War.

Sir Nicholas Winton, a multi national banker, who worked in the Stock Exchange, set up an office in Prague to transport refugees by train to London.  It transpired that Tim Mulroy’s father Hans (later John) and his aunt Hanna, who were twins, were fostered and later adopted by a family in Sheffield. A That’s Life programme hosted by Esther Rantzen helped Tim Mulroy to find his family.
