Mansfield Rotary Club’s Barbecue was held on Sunday 7th July at the home of Roger & Kathy Winson on a lovely, sunny day.
Rotary members and their spouses helped to set up marquees, tables and chairs in the beautiful garden and prepare the food for the barbecue in the kitchen with the help of Kathy & her twin daughters Julia & Sarah.Henry Thomas & Alan Hunt cooked the sausages and burgers, while Nick Starr and Kelvin Bowman served the delicious ham, turkey and beef, eaten with salad and followed by strawberries & cream and cheese and biscuits.
Frank Ceney was in charge of the bar, while Margaret sold tickets for the raffle with the help of Kathy’s granddaughter, Charlotte. The barbecue was a great success, raising just over £1,000 for charity.
It was a very sociable, friendly occasion, which we all thoroughly enjoyed.
